Children's Room Library Expansion

Capital Campaign

Love Your Library?

Donate to help keep the Lebanon Public Library a vibrant place for our community to learn, grow, and thrive! Every amount helps.

Your gift to the Friends will help us build a dedicated children's room onto the Lebanon Public Library. This long-term project will provide the Library with much-needed space to host their popular children’s programs, including Storytime, arts and crafts, STEM activities, tween and teen programs, and more.

The campaign needs to raise over half a million dollars to build the addition, and the Friends are doing their part to show community support. You can contribute to this campaign by donating to the Friends and/or purchasing items at our book sales and other fundraisers. Donations can be made online or mailed to the address below. All donations made to the Friends are tax deductible.

Our Contributions

$20,000 Gift to the Library

The Friends of the Library kicked off fundraising for the children's room with a check for $20,000 presented to the Library at our 70th anniversary celebration on March 4, 2023. The Friends presented another check for $20,000 to the Library on May 13, 2024. We hope our next contribution to the expansion fund will be even bigger.

The Children's Room

Currently the children's area has inadequate space for the Library's increasingly popular children's programs. During Storytime and other children's activities, access to children's books, the family restroom, children's program office, and storage room is limited. Besides the space issue, the noise level during children's programs is distracting to other patrons in the Library.

The new children's room provides gathering and activities space for 40+ children and adults. It's designed to be a soundproof space that will foster a distraction free experience for all Library patrons. It also creates perimeter seating for parents, a stroller storage area between the children's room and the Library, and many windows for parents to observe their children from outside.

Double doors lead into a vestibule with ample room for strollers. Another set of double doors from the vestibule leads into the library, creating a sound barrier between the children's room and the rest of the library
