Carved Vintage Book Art

In June 2021, the Friends found a creative way to upcycle the hundreds of vintage Reader’s Digest condensed books donated to our bookstore. The books are carved into letters, animals, and other popular designs and sold as book art. We have sold over a thousand of these unique art objects, saving the previously undesirable books from the landfill and giving them new life.

The Friends currently sell the carved vintage books locally at book sales and vendor events. They can also be ordered at the Lebanon Public Library or online with the order form below. Shipping is available within the United States. Online invoices are sent out via PayPal Goods & Services. Shipping and handling fees apply.

We happily accept donations of hardcover fiction Reader's Digest condensed books so we can continue this fundraising program.

Merchandise

Over the past three years, the Friends have opened three accounts with print-on-demand companies, Redbubble, TeePublic, and Dashery. We have more than 30 fun bookish designs available on dozens of items including tee shirts, tote bags, mugs, magnets, and stickers. Below is a small example of available designs and merchandise. We've sold hundreds items to people around the world including Australia, Canada, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Portugal. The Friends receive a percentage from sales of our designs in all our shops plus we earn a small percentage of every sale made via our affiliate link with TeePublic.

Rare & Collectible Books

The Friends recently became a seller on AbeBooks so we can offer rare, collectible, and higher value books to a broader audience. Our inventory includes antique and vintage books, autographed books, first editions, textbooks, and sets of books. The Friends have raised over twelve hundred dollars through online book sales and have shipped books to Australia and Sweden. Click the link below to visit our shop.
